And finally a little bit of Fancy Pants. I find myself putting layouts together a lot of the times without a photo or a theme because I don't want to edit or print photos. So that is why I have about 40 layouts unfinished. Since I can't explain why I do the things I do (it's probably OCD), the habit will continue on. . . .

First layout in what feels like a year
I feel so out of things. Just got off the phone with insurance and the claim should be completely settled next week. I took a picture of my layout and it wasn't the same without the trusty Mark II but rest assured (for my own sanity) I will have a new one shortly.
Our back door will be replaced and it's kind of a weird feeling. But everything should be all right.
I took and desaturated Riley's hula picture and gave it a hand tinted feeling. DCWV amazingly was the only sheet of cardstock used. I am not a one sheeter. Picked up some Fancy Pants stamps at the Scrapbook Expo on Friday and wanted to use them. I just started stamping and went with whatever was happening. Used Heidi Swapp, SEI, Stickles, Autumn Leaves inks. Oh the saying means I love you.

Even with the flu. . .
I scrap. I have these crazy moments when I buy papers that aren't quite me. I'm not into vintage but I couldn't help buying two sheets of Webster Pages. I guess they appeal because they are different. So I thought about what papers could go with one of them. . . none in my collection. I'm not good at mixing and matching paper lines. I've been meaning to try something out for a long time but never got around to it. I created a custom mask on my Pazzles and it worked beautifully. Placing it on the paper took a few minutes because it was a cut that wanted to tangle. Spritzed it with two colors of Glimmer Mist to give it a bit of interest. I commited myself to using my stash so I grabbed an old Fancy Pants Crush paper for background paper. Punched the stitch holes with the Pazzles and it didn't put it in the place I wanted so I just tore around the stitches. Used Prima flowers and felt. Went into my sticker drawer and out came an old Quick Quotes vellum piece. Felt like it was lacking interest, so I stamped a Glitz Girls distress stamp. As always, the layout didn't turn out as I had planned but I like it.

Altered We R Memory Keepers book
So the past few days I've been working on an altered book. I used We R Memory Keepers Nonsense papers, ribbons and rubons. Yes you've seen me use bits and pieces in the layouts recently. I told you I'm horrible at putting stuff away. And rather than do that, I just use it then. Also I used Glimmer Mist to color the sides, Golden acrylic, Tsukineko chalk ink, Maya Road rubons and the tin it came in on the cover and as the drawer, SEI left over rubons from a class, 7 Gypsies handle and knob.
Can't wait to start the next one. I'm using old text books that my mother-in-law never threw out from Michael's courses. This next one is a huge literature book. Going to put several tiny drawers to try to lighten up the weight. Oh and I used Fancy Pants ribbon. Also added a bunch of photos from that same morning into the drawer.

Dying to scrap all day. . . .
I'm telling you I'm going through serious withdrawls. I've been dying to scrap all day long. Then of course I get the time and don't feel like it because I'm too tired because Riley has had nightmares the past two nights; keeping me up. I'll tell you a funny story. . . but don't laugh. So I went to have my eyebrows done this morning. I get off the train and go to the appt. Well check my messages and the new boss text me last night at 8:30pm telling me not to come into work until noon. Well I'm already in the city at 9. What to do? I stayed at the spa and slept in the relaxation room for an hour and a half. Telling you Iwas tired. Oh and of course I had my free (well technically not because I paid for my service) breakfast, tea and snacks too. Felt great until about 3. But anyhow. . . .I went shopping at Britex and bought grab bag ribbon and leather remnants. Oh the leather. . . .printed. . . time to make mini albums.
So here's my layout for Feb. 25. Gees the class is almost over. What. . . 3 days left. Tomorrow is a 30 minute layout. Wonder if it'll be faster to do digital. We'll see. So back to the layout. With the news of CK Media going down the tubes. . . today's challenge was to use scraps. Again. . . that's back to my resolution. Funny thing is that this layout was expensive. Here's the rundown:
Pink Paislee mini album kit (that was way over priced --maybe I shouldn't order online like that)
Cardboard from a 52" LCD TV (we did get a good price and even got $30 from Circuit City through ebates when we bought it from Best Buy. Haha if CC wouldn't have screwed up the order. . . )
Ballet costume (that was over priced too)
Lace and elastic given to me. . .yes that was free.
Fancy Pants rubons
BoBunny rubons
Bling. . . oh a few cents
Prima Flowers. . . never cheap
Glimmer Mist
Acrylic paint (Riley did it BTW)
All in all. . . probably about $1900. Hahaha. . . guess it's like Visa. . . Riley's happiness. . . PRICELESS. (Trying to convince myself.)

New LOAD layouts
Ok so I have to go to work in the morning and take Riley to school. It's going to be hard for me since I haven't had to get up to go to work in over 2 months. I'm dreading waking up in the morning which means I have to get up early enough to get Riley to Spanish class on time. BTW I'm not just crazy to do these layouts at midnight. I have to wait for the laundry to dry.So on my birthday I did nothing but taxes all day. If you only knew how much we had to pay in 2007. . . geesh a nightmare. So to avoid paying someone's IRS salary for the year, I sat down and played with numbers all day. But to think back at my day 19 layout (My Mind's Eye papers). . . I did have a Fruitista!
Day 20 was to have a winter layout. Yeah everyone knows we don't have snow in San Fancisco. But we did go up to Tahoe about two weeks ago. Here's some We R Memory Keepers for ya!
Here I think is my favorite of the three. It was a resolution layout. And as you may recall, I said that I would use up scraps. I still have to post the Pink Paislee mini album (which I did feel I over paid for) but I used scraps. Almost three months and I'm still keeping with the resolution. Used some Prima flowers as well as Fancy Pants ribbon on this and the Fruitisa layout.

Day 2 challenge --LOAD
Here's my day 2 challenge. It was really to use something that was a part of everyday life which you wouldn't normally look at and scrap it. So in this it was really that these photos were "mistakes" since Riley decided to put her silly mug in front of the camera. Oh I used Fancy Pants Designs Celebrate line. I should say that I'm finally running out of those papers. I don't know how many times I can reinvent ways to make it look different. So much for ordering wholesale (haven't gotten around to using all my Prima halloween papers).

So far so good!
I seem to be keeping up with my resolution of using up my supplies. I did a Fancy Pants layout, a Basic Grey mini album and a quick Sassafras Lass calendar for Riley's great grandma who lives in South Dakota. I made the base of the free standing calendar from book board. I bound it with book binding tape from Paper Source and instead of assembling like a book, I added an additional piece to the center as if adding a second spine.

I don't make resolutions, but this new year. . . .
I don't make resolutions which means I don't break them either. Just like there's no use in losing weight until (if I can squeeze another kid out). Ok, so if you know me you know I never squeezed one out to begin with since I had a c-section. But you get my point.
I am attempting to make a resolution of sort. . . let's call it a commitment instead. I am going to try to use up my scrapbooking supplies. It's like the accounting method, first in -first out.. You'll see my double page layout I did last night. . . it's the same Creative Imaginations paper I used for our 2006 Christmas cards. That year we went to Hawaii and I put Riley into a snow globe with sand. I put so much work into our cards except for this year. Guess things are changing.
The other layout Fancy Pants Kewl line. I don't even know when that came out. . .could it have been last year? I used gold and red/purple leaf on the layout as well as CTMH flowers. And as infatuated as I am with stamps (but never use them). . . I used them on this layout with Distress Inks.
I hope you all have a creative and prosperous New Year. I'm off to try to figure out something else to make so I don't have to move so much of my supplies downstairs to my new scrapbook room.
